Reigate St Mary’s Choristers (The Godfrey Searle Choir)
What better way to open this year's Reigate Summer Festival, than with the extraordinary Reigate St. Mary's Choristers. A chance to step off the 9-to-5 treadmill and find some stillness, in this soul-soothing half hour performance.
Reigate St Mary's is one of an elite group of fewer than 40 schools who can claim full membership of the Choir School Association (CSA), and the only one not attached to a cathedral. Named after its founder, who bequeathed his home to the school, the Godfrey Searle Choir maintains a valuable legacy, singing Morning Prayer and Evensong each week in St Mary's Church, led by Talitha Glynne-Jones.
The choristers will be first to perform on the Community Stage at Reigate Methodist Church, from 5-5.30pm on Friday 20th June, providing a moving and beautiful opening to the second Reigate Summer Festival. All welcome.
Doors will open at the Community Stage at Reigate Methodist Church, 15 minutes before the published start time.

Aaliyah and the Newmen
The responsibility has to fall to someone to open the Friday night on the Tunnel Stage, and this year it sees Aaliyah and the Newmen kicking off the party with their powerful Indie/Rock covers. A warm-up for their Music for Youth Birmingham festival show a week later.
Florence Eaglestone
No stranger to performing, Florence impressed with her soulful vocal delivery at the RPU Music festival in May. Expect expressive interpretations of contemporary Pop tracks.

Waterstones are delighted to be hosting an evening of drinks and nibbles with Alexander DuCharme promoting his debut crime thriller Dark Pools, set in the cut-throat world of investment banking.
Reigate College Guitar Ensemble
The College’s Guitar Ensemble has swiftly made a big impression on Music Department concerts since its inception in January 2024. Great arrangements of classic guitar-driven songs, expertly executed.
Highlights from the ‘Reigate & Redhill Festival’
The Reigate & Redhill Festival (very similar name to ours!) takes place over two weeks every May, with 2025 being its centenary year. The festival gives amateur musicians and actors the chance to perform to a supportive and appreciative audience, while gaining feedback from a team of professional adjudicators.
Stand-out performers from two of its largest categories will take centre stage in the Reigate Summer Festival, including talented pianists and exciting young performers from the festival's Speech and Drama section, who all dazzled their audiences in May.

Vihuela
Progressing to the Reigate Summer Festival by virtue of their great set at the RPU Music festival in May, Vihuela bring their blend of 90s Indie Rock and originals to the Clocktower Stage.
NiyoJo
Niyojo wowed the Clocktower Stage audience last year as a soloist playing keys and singing, when he was still at Reigate School. Now at Reigate College, on guitar and with a band behind him, he's back, this time on the Tunnel Stage. A skilful and soulful performer, Niyo has a distinctive songwriting voice, incorporating Soul influences and Pop hooks.

Reigate College Session Orchestra
One of the Music Department’s larger ensembles brings a four-song set of Soul, Disco and Pop classics from the 70s to present day.
LINES
LINES hops genres between electronica and guitar tunes and the result is a spine tingling sound world to transport you from your bedroom to Space and back again in the space of five minutes.
Franklin Voices
Franklin Voices is a vibrant, dynamic and welcoming community choir with groove at its heart! The choir meets every Monday evening to sing, connect, and create uplifting music. With live musicians accompanying the performances, energy and soul is brought to every song.
Beyond singing, the group loves to socialise, with a range of events offered throughout the year. From experienced singers, slightly shy or nervous singers to those who just love to harmonise, Franklin Voices is all about voice, rhythm, and community with a bit of a laugh along the way.
Franklin Voices are the vocal ensemble that supports the Franklin Music Centre and you'll find them at events and concerts throughout the year including Reigate Summer Festival.

Danny Marriott
Danny Marriott is a charismatic and hugely talented indie artist from London who writes distinctive, lyrical, chorus filled alternative rock music. Danny and his band have performed at New Music Nights and Pub in the Park (where they'll be on the main stage this year) and are guaranteed to lift the roof off the tunnel on Friday night.
Baker & Co
Baker & Co is a Surrey based band, formed in 2020. They get the party started with their takes on funk and soul classics from the 70s, 80s and beyond. From Chic to Lizzo, the bangers are incoming!
Reigate Priory Museum Display
Over the festival weekend, the first floor of Caffè Nero will be used to display items from the Reigate Priory Museum collection and photographs of collection items.
The display has been curated by members of the Reigate Priory Museum Society who will be there to answer question together with members of the Reigate and Redhill Society.
ENTRANCE IS FREE AND ALL ARE WELCOME.
Reigate Priory Museum, founded in 1973, was housed in Reigate Priory and presented changing exhibitions designed to appeal to both adults and children. Artefacts from the collection, period costumes, and domestic memorabilia were used to stage scenes portraying the life in earlier times.
Sadly, the museum has been closed since 2011 and the collection is stored off-site. This is a loss for the people of Reigate, the visiting school parties, adult groups, and the general public who were able to visit the museum on two afternoons a week and also enjoy guided tours of the very special historic features of Reigate Priory, which is a grade one listed building.
We are asking for your support to re-establish the museum for the benefit of our historic town.
The REIGATE PRIORY MUSEUM SOCIETY supports the museum with a programme of illustrated-talks, films, and concerts. Many of its members are actively involved in the running of the museum collection and conserving the artefacts.

Lino Printing Workshop
Reigate College's Head of Art, Chantelle Shekyls will be running a Lino Print Workshop to encourage more people to take up this hugely rewarding print form, that can easily be continued from home, with just a little know-how and a few essential items!
Suitable for beginners and those who’ve done some lino printing before, aged 14 and above.
Produce six hand-printed cards to take home with you, using either your own design or one provided.

Dressmaking Workshop – sew a Kimono @ Knights Haberdashery
Learn to sew a beautiful Kimono top with Chrissie in this dressmaking workshop at Knights Haberdashery.
The pattern comes in small, medium and large and the construction is very straightforward. You will learn how to cut out the pattern, piece together and use the overlocker to finish seams. There will be some hand sewing involved to hand hem the garment (can be finished at home) and hand stitch the inside of the neck band.
Please bring your own materials (list available on booking and 10% discount if you buy from us). A lightweight or floaty fabric would be suitable (we will not be pattern matching).
Perfect for beginners who can wind a bobbin and sew a straight line on a sewing machine.

How to plan a crime story! – Creative Writing Workshop with Niki Mackay
Ever thought about writing you own crime novel or short story? Come and learn the basics of plotting crime fiction with author Niki Mackay. This workshop will teach you a little about beginnings, middles and ends and you will come away with some fun plot points for your own story.
Aspiring writers, don't miss this golden opportunity to learn from an established author - Niki will include a writer's Q&A as part of the session!
Niki is a novelist and short-story writer specialising in the darker areas of fiction. Her debut novel, I Witness, was shortlisted for the Luke Bitmead bursary and was published by Orion in 2018. Her latest novel The Due Date, published by Headline, made it to no. 13 in the UK Kindle charts, 65 in the USA and was no.1 in 3 categories.

Singing for the Soul Workshop
Find your voice in this fun, 90 minute singing workshop! Whether you dream of joining a choir, a band, or just love to sing, all are welcome, any age. Led by Nikki Franklin founder of The Franklin Music Centre (St. John’s, Redhill), this session invites you to sing, connect, and enjoy making music together!

Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage: Red’s Dreamers Jazz
Reigate-founded Red’s Dreamers Jazz Collective is once again host-band for the Pilgrim Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage, bringing us their blend of classics from the Great American Songbook plus a jazz-style take on more contemporary songs and favourites.
Lorraine Gauntlett on Vocals, Ade Webb on Guitar and guest saxophonist Josh Johnson.

Community Canvas – Add Your Idea to the Folk Tales Festival Mural!
Adam's Gallery is to play host to the co-creation of a Hockney-style, fairy-tale based painting with spaces left for you, the festival public, to create your own thoughts & pictures!
Listen to a short introductory talk from Lidda, on folk tales and how their important plots and characters still exist in our modern world. Then be inspired by the David Hockney illustrations on display, before entering the creativity room where Jenny will invite you to add your words, paint, collage figurines and ideas to the emerging Community Canvas!
This free 45 minutes session is open to all (under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult).
Sign up on the day on a first come, first served basis (15 people per session), and have the chance to add your mark to the Community Canvas that is intended to be displayed in the tunnel later in the year and printed for all the community to share!

Reigate School of Ballet
Established in 1963, Reigate School of Ballet teaches over 1200 happy local children, providing a safe and nurturing environment to grow, not just as dancers, but also confident individuals for life. The primary ethos is to give everyone opportunities to perform and learn, and ensure all children learn to love dance, and have the confidence to say "I CAN DO IT".
Reigate School of Ballet offers classes in ballet, tap, commercial street, modern, musical theatre, contemporary, toddler dance, acro and adult dance and fitness, catering for children of all abilities. Include provides community projects, training and consultancy combining music, creativity and fun – to teach people better ways of including and involving people with understanding or speaking difficulties.
Salsabug – Intro to Salsa Workshop
Wendy and Paul from local dance company SalsaBug are delighted to be offering an Intro to Salsa Workshop at Somers Hall on Slipshoe Street, one of twelve creative workshops taking place there, during this year's Reigate Summer Festival.
No previous experience or partner required! During this intensive 60 minute session, you'll master the basic Salsa steps and have lots of fun along the way, getting to grips with this uplifting rhythmical dance. Wendy and Paul's mission is to ignite a lifelong love for dance and help people connect through the vibrant world of Salsa.
You'll have the chance to put what you've learned into practice, by sashaying your way across to the church courtyard (at Reigate Methodist Church, near M&S) for a Salsa showcase event starting at 3pm.

Community Canvas – Add Your Idea to the Folk Tales Festival Mural!
Adam's Gallery is to play host to the co-creation of a Hockney-style, fairy-tale based painting with spaces left for you, the festival public, to create your own thoughts & pictures!
Listen to a short introductory talk from Lidda, on folk tales and how their important plots and characters still exist in our modern world. Then be inspired by the David Hockney illustrations on display, before entering the creativity room where Jenny will invite you to add your words, paint, collage figurines and ideas to the emerging Community Canvas!
This free 45 minutes session is open to all (under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult).
Sign up on the day on a first come, first served basis (15 people per session), and have the chance to add your mark to the Community Canvas that is intended to be displayed in the tunnel later in the year and printed for all the community to share!

East Surrey Textile Group Workshop for adults: Floral Motifs
East Surrey Textile Group is a friendly and enthusiastic group of stitchers (from beginners to very experienced) with a great programme of speakers and workshops for all things textile related. For further information about the group, please visit the East Surrey Textile Group website.
We are delighted that the group will once again be holding two pop-in sessions at Reigate library on Saturday 21st June as part of Reigate Summer Festival. The adult taster session will run from 2pm-4pm, focusing on textile embroidery, involving simple applique and embellishment with threads.
Spaces to attend the workshop are strictly limited (12 spaces only), therefore advanced booking is advised. Please contact the library kate.ferrier@surreycc.gov.uk to book your place.

Adults Water Colour Flower Painting Workshop
Come and wind down with watercolours in this 90 minute painting workshop. Local artist Kiri from Kiri Jones ART, will guide you in creating an array of spring and summer flowers as pictures to take home!
No experience necessary, just a desire to have a go at water colour painting in a supportive space.
Suitable for 16yrs+. All materials will be provided, but it's recommended participants bring an apron or old shirt with them.

Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage: Nikki Franklin Jazz
– feat. guest vocals, Lorraine Gauntlett.
Nikki Franklin brings her sparkling set of jazz classics and contemporary songs to this year’s festival stage at Pilgrim Brewery.
Redhill-based Nikki has performed at and conducted her own works at numerous venues across the UK, including The Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The 606 Club, The Barbican, and the Royal Festival Hall.
Professional musician, composer, performer and educator, Nikki is the founder of an exciting new local community-based music education and musical collaboration network, Franklin Music.
Voicerox
Voicerox Choir was established in November 2009 by singer and vocal coach Melanie Lewis-McDonald, as a way of bringing her professional experience in the rock and pop industry to her local community.
The choir boasts over 100 members from all walks of life with one thing in common - they love to sing! Over the past 15 years, they have performed in theatres, recorded at Abbey Road Studio and performed at the Chorus Festival at London’s Royal Festival Hall. They also regularly perform concerts at Reigate Methodist Church, where they rehearse every Tuesday evening during term times. They cover a variety of songs from the past seven decades, so there’s always something to bring joy to everyone!

Salsa Showcase Event
If you fancy learning Salsa before showing up to this Salsa Showcase event, then book yourself into Wendy and Paul's intensive 60 minute Intro to Salsa Workshop, Saturday 21 June, 1.30-2.30pm in Somers Hall on Slipshoe Street, £7.50 per person.
Once you've mastered the basic steps during the workshop you'll be able to show off your sizzling new dance moves with members of their dance groups, plus anyone interested in joining in! The more the merrier! The event will take place OUTSIDE the front of Reigate Methodist Church (on Reigate High Street) - 3-3.30pm pm on Saturday 21st June.
With their fun and exciting teaching style alongside their vast expertise this will be an interactive session not to be missed!

Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage: Ed Rice – featuring Freddie Benedict, vocals
Reigate’s own Ed Rice is one of the UK’s outstanding jazz piano artists, a regular on the London and West End circuit. His exciting blend of passion and excitement for the genre shines across multiple styles. Ed has performed with, among others, Norma Winstone, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Swingle Singers, across the UK and internationally, including at jazz festivals in London, Cheltenham and Montreux, Switzerland.
Musician, researcher and educator, Ed’s musical interests span jazz, classical, pop and world music. Alongside a recent focus on Brazilian music, Ed is working on a debut album combining his favourite jazz, bossa nova and pop repertoire.
Joining Ed on vocals is one of the UK jazz scene’s most exciting emerging talents, Freddie Benedict. A regular sellout artist in London’s top West End jazz venues - Spice Of Life, The Savoy, The Ritz, Crazy Coqs, Toulouse Lautrec, Pizza Express in Soho - Freddie recently performed the music of Henry Mancini for the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
Freddie’s warm, soaring baritone sound was honed alongside his trumpet skills and he added his vocal and beatboxing talents to the award-nominated A Cappella group, All the King’s Men, performing at Carnegie Hall. As Lead Male vocalist with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra for 10 years, Freddie has performed nationally and internationally, including for HRH Prince Edward, Duke of York.

Reigate College Musical Theatre Showcase
Reigate College Musical Theatre students will perform a medley of songs from Sister Act the Musical - a stage adaptation of the 1992 hit film Sister Act, featuring music by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors and The Little Mermaid).
The story follows Deloris Van Cartier, a spirited and ambitious nightclub singer in Philadelphia, whose life takes a sudden turn when she witnesses her gangster boyfriend Curtis commit a murder. Fearing for her life, she goes into hiding, with the help of the police, in the most unexpected place – a convent.

Cecil Element
A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Reigate, with influences ranging from Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake, via Elbow and Radiohead, to Foals and Everything Everything. He released his first single 'LCR' in January and follow up single 'Indivisibilities' will be out in the summer.
Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage: Moodswing
Toes will be tapping once again for our festival finale, as we enjoy an eclectic mix of well-known tunes from the upbeat Moodswing Quartet – including jazz and swing classics from the Twentieth Century,
Latin and Gypsy Jazz Hot Club Repertoire. Moodswing’s warm melodic sound is provided by Ann on Violin, Peter and Chris on Guitars and Mike on Double bass, plus Mandolin, Clarinet , Flute and Sax for certain tunes. A favourite from last year’s Pilgrim Brewery jazz stage, Moodswing will be sure to make you want to get you and dancing!

The Full Shanty sing sea songs and sea shanties in four-part harmony

Dunottar Choral Society
Dunottar Choral Society is a very friendly choir who love to welcome new members. There are no auditions and no requirements to read music.
Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings during term-time, from 7pm-9pm in the Ballroom at Dunottar School, Reigate, RH2 7EL.
The choir sing from a wide repertoire, from major choral works to musical theatre, sacred to pop music. The aim is to perform at three events per year, as well as at the Dunottar School Carol Service. There are also social events and collaborations with other choirs to look forward to.

Woodzy (between bands)
Award winning flo poet, two times TEDx speaker and winner of UK unsigned 2019, Woodzy captivates his audience with witty wordplay, incredible use of language and relatable topics. As seen on BAFTA winning TV show Life And Rhymes also on Sky Sports Fight Night Live at Wembley Arena, Woodzy was always destined to become a poet, being born on World Poetry Day. He studied at the Brit School and went on to open for the likes of Stormzy, appear on BBC1Xtra and BBC Radio London, have a poem on the tour of the Tower of London and reach over 1 million views for his poem “90s baby”.
Woodzy will MC and perform between bands on the Tunnel Stage on Saturday night at RSF. You can also pick up a copy of his book, Peace Full Thirty, from the info desk.
Bromance
Nate and Jude are multi-instrumental songwriters and performers (drums, Guitar, Keyboards, vocals) really pushing to make a mark in the music industry. They wowed the festival audience on the Clocktower Stage last year and now move up to headline Saturday night on the Tunnel Stage. Don't miss em!
Reigate Priory Museum Display
Over the festival weekend, the first floor of Caffè Nero will be used to display items from the Reigate Priory Museum collection and photographs of collection items.
The display has been curated by members of the Reigate Priory Museum Society who will be there to answer question together with members of the Reigate and Redhill Society.
ENTRANCE IS FREE AND ALL ARE WELCOME.
Reigate Priory Museum, founded in 1973, was housed in Reigate Priory and presented changing exhibitions designed to appeal to both adults and children. Artefacts from the collection, period costumes, and domestic memorabilia were used to stage scenes portraying the life in earlier times.
Sadly, the museum has been closed since 2011 and the collection is stored off-site. This is a loss for the people of Reigate, the visiting school parties, adult groups, and the general public who were able to visit the museum on two afternoons a week and also enjoy guided tours of the very special historic features of Reigate Priory, which is a grade one listed building.
We are asking for your support to re-establish the museum for the benefit of our historic town.
The REIGATE PRIORY MUSEUM SOCIETY supports the museum with a programme of illustrated-talks, films, and concerts. Many of its members are actively involved in the running of the museum collection and conserving the artefacts.

Mindful Movement and Breathing

Art K offer weekly children's art classes & holiday workshops; adult classes & Sip 'n' Paint workshops plus parties & gatherings. They are offering their popular Family Workshops as part of Reigate Summer Festival! All held in their friendly sunlit studio on the high street.
The Festival Family Workshops are enjoyable for all age, adults and children will have their own age-appropriate project to develop. There will be the option of wonderful watercolours or animals.

Sunday brings more mellow bands to the Tunnel Stage to serenade you as you pull on your pilates pants, partake of a pastry and sip your coffee in the warmth of a glorious summer's day.
Young Poets Workshop @ Parkside
A chance for young and aspiring poets (no experience necessary, beginners welcome!) aged 7yrs to 11yrs to join a fun session enjoying their favourite poems and then creating their own with support from workshop leaders. After the workshop there is an opportunity to perform their chosen poems and their own work to friends and family on the Parkside stage!
Run by Richard Oldham, performance poet and curator of local RAW poetry events. This is one for the young creatives - come and have fun with words!
Workshop is 1.5 hours with breaks, parents are asked to remain on site (food and drinks available from Parkside cafe). The performance stage will then follow from 12.30pm to 1pm.
*All participants are asked to bring a print-out of their favourite poem*

Young Poets Open Mic @ Parkside
Bring along your favourite poem or one that you have written yourself and take the chance to perform it on the Parkside stage to family and friends at this festival open mic event especially for young creatives!
If you want inspiration for writing your own material, check out the Young Poets workshop taking place just beforehand!
The open mic event is free to take part! Run by Richard Oldham, performance poet and curator of local RAW poetry events. Bring your words and show them to Richard who will add you to the line up!
Meet a local author & book signing: Dave Mckean
Artist Dave Mckean will be at Waterstones to sign copies of works featuring his haunting illustrations including SF Said's Tyger, and his own graphic novel, Raptor.
Community Canvas – Add Your Idea to the Folk Tales Festival Mural!
Adam's Gallery is to play host to the co-creation of a Hockney-style, fairy-tale based painting with spaces left for you, the festival public, to create your own thoughts & pictures!
Listen to a short introductory talk from Lidda, on folk tales and how their important plots and characters still exist in our modern world. Then be inspired by the David Hockney illustrations on display, before entering the creativity room where Jenny will invite you to add your words, paint, collage figurines and ideas to the emerging Community Canvas!
This free 45 minutes session is open to all (under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult).
Sign up on the day on a first come, first served basis (15 people per session), and have the chance to add your mark to the Community Canvas that is intended to be displayed in the tunnel later in the year and printed for all the community to share!
Come along to Adam's Gallery on the High Street (look for the festival flag!) and join in!
Kitchen Party @ Kutchenhaus!
Come in to Kutchenhaus and join the party! Walk the red carpet, enjoy bubbles & nibbles on the house and be entertained by the wonderful singing of Sally from Sally Cranham Music. Expect a range of uplifting songs to bring the festival vibe into the kitchen!

Reigate College Art Exhibition (Surrey Artists’ Open Studios)
The College will be showcasing the exceptional talent of around 40 students' work as part of Surrey Artists' Open Studios.
Head to the main hall of Reigate Community Centre, down the corridor to the left of Reception. Entrance is free and all are welcome!
Limited edition prints of all artworks being exhibited will be available for sale.
SingSpace Reigate Musical Theatre Choir
Reigate Summer Festival is delighted to welcome SingSpace Reigate Musical Theatre Choir to the Community Stage this year. The choir consists of 70 members from beginners, to seasoned musical theatre singers and has been running since 2024.
Led by Monica MacLeod, come and enjoy a programme of beautiful tunes from West End and Broadway shows.
Doors open at the Community Stage at Reigate Methodist Church 15 minutes before the published start time.
Entrance is free and seats are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Reigate Festival Jam Session@ the Ivory Lounge
Had an amazing time at the festival but don't want the music to end? Bring your instrument and get your groove on at this open jam session with experienced musicians Nikki Franklin, on keys and vocals, Hugh McCullen on bass and Keith Welford on drums. This jam session invites musicians of all levels to come along, join in, and enjoy making music together.
No need to sign up - just bring your instrument, your voice, or come and listen. Drummers - maybe bring some hand percussion too!

Please note for musicians joining the jam, as this takes place inside the Ivory Lounge, performers will need to be over 18yrs.
Release the Story Within! – Creative Writing Workshop
Ever wanted to try your hand at creative writing but were unsure how to get your words onto the page? Join Rob Walton-Kinghorn who, with nearly 20 years experience teaching English and Creative Writing at Reigate College, will use stimulus texts to help guide you into producing your own short story. No experience necessary, just a positive attitude and willingness to get your creative juices flowing!
Suitable for 16yrs+
The workshop will take place upstairs in the White Attic at Somers Hall.

Andrew Colley and John Neil will be at Waterstones to sign copies of their book 'The Man Who Tested Parachutes', telling the extraordinary true story of Charles Agate, a local schoolteacher who took great risks during WWII doing a record number of parachute jumps to test their military application.

Vocal Dimension Chorus
Vocal Dimension Chorus is an award-winning a cappella chorus. They are thrilled to have been invited to perform once again at the Reigate Summer Festival and look forward to sharing their music on the Community Stage.
Established in 2010 in Redhill, Vocal Dimension’s motto is ‘Making Music And Having Fun Doing It’. They enjoy entertaining and performing at all sorts of events. As well as their own concerts, the past year has seen them perform in locations as diverse as the Long Room at Lord's Cricket Ground and St John’s College, Cambridge, though to summer weddings, local care homes and pubs at Christmas.
Their repertoire spans chart-toppers and show tunes right through to classical and swing. Their passion extends to the competitive arena, where they regularly compete in barbershop contests. Representing the UK, they have won medals on the international stage in cities like Baltimore, Las Vegas and Louisville, USA. Just last month, they travelled to Sweden to compete as part of the European Barbershop Convention 2025.
