Reigate St Mary’s Choristers (The Godfrey Searle Choir)

Reigate St Mary's is one of an elite group of fewer than 40 schools who can claim full membership of the Choir School Association (CSA), and the only one not attached to a cathedral. Named after its founder, who bequeathed his home to the school, the Godfrey Searle Choir maintains a valuable legacy, singing Morning Prayer and Evensong each week in St Mary's Church, led by Talitha Glynne-Jones. 

They will be first to perform on the Community Stage at the Church in the High Street (Reigate Methodist Church), from 5-5.30pm on Friday 20th June, providing a rare and beautiful opening to the second Reigate Summer Festival. All welcome.

The Reigate & Redhill Festival takes place every year in May, with 2025 being the centenary year. A gala concert is held after the main Festival, which features exceptional performances from all sections.

Two particularly large sections will feature in the Reigate Summer Festival, including a number of talented pianists, who have particularly impressed the adjudicators during the Festival. Several young performers from the Speech and Drama section will also feature.

East Surrey Textile Group Workshop for children: Lucky Letters

East Surrey Textile Group is a friendly and enthusiastic group of stitchers (from beginners to very experienced) with a great programme of speakers and workshops for all things textile related.

They run a thriving group for young people between the ages of eight and sixteen, who meet on Saturdays about six times a year, getting involved with exciting craft and textile projects. For further information about the group, please visit the East Surrey Textile Group website.

We are delighted that the group will once again be holding two pop-in sessions at Reigate library on Saturday 21st June as part of Reigate Summer Festival. The children's taster session "Lucky Letters" will run from 10am-12pm, suitable for ages 7-11 and children must be accompanied by and adult.

Participants will learn how to stitch their initials on a cover for a notebook, with an emphasis on applique and simple embroidery.

Voicerox Choir was established in November 2009 by singer and vocal coach Melanie Lewis-McDonald, as a way of bringing her professional experience in the rock and pop industry to her local community.

Conscious Couture: A Sustainable Fashion Experience, will be held at the Ivory lounge on Saturday 21st June.

So what’s the big idea?

The idea is to show off the creativity and style of our local clothing makers and retailers, while promoting slow fashion, upcycling and reworked vintage pieces. The goal is to show how old garments can be reimagined and reused without sacrificing style.

Our event (exact timings tbc) will comprise of some exciting interactive elements that guests can get involved in, culminating in a catwalk show bringing classic fashion eras back to life and demonstrating how fashion trends always come full circle.

Dunottar Choral Society is a very friendly choir who love to welcome new members.  There are no auditions and no requirements to read music.  

Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings during term-time, from 7pm-9pm in the Ballroom at Dunottar School, Reigate, RH2 7EL.

The choir sing from a wide repertoire, from major choral works to musical theatre, sacred to pop music. The aim is to perform at three events per year, as well as at the Dunottar School Carol Service.  There are also social events and collaborations with other choirs to look forward to.

Reigate Summer Festival will be screening a selection of short films that include a variety of genres from sci-fi, documentaries, drama and historical footage of the local area.

The Running Order for the Sunday, 11am to 12 noon session, will be made available nearer the event.

Entrance is free and seats are offered on a first come, first served basis.

The cinema cafe will be serving a full range of drinks and snacks including popcorn and pizza.

The screening will be in the ground floor screen.

Collage Paper & Picture Making

Enjoy a creative session of collage paper-making in this 90 minute art workshop. Have a go at making papers then use your materials to produce a picture to take home! Led by Jane Wardle, local artist, sculptor and creator of the Reigate Summer Festival Puppet!

No experience necessary, just a desire to have a go at this enjoyable art-form in a supportive space.

Suitable for 10+yrs. (Anyone under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult). All materials will be provided, but it's recommended participants bring an apron or old shirt with them.

The workshop will take place in the downstairs Art Room at Somers Hall.

Cost £15 per person (no concessions). Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Vocal Dimension Chorus

Vocal Dimension Chorus is an award-winning a cappella chorus. They are thrilled to have been invited to perform once again at the Reigate Summer Festival and look forward to sharing their music on the Community Stage.

Established in 2010 in Redhill, Vocal Dimension’s motto is ‘Making Music And Having Fun Doing It’. They enjoy entertaining and performing at all sorts of events. As well as their own concerts, the past year has seen them perform in locations as diverse as the Long Room at Lord's Cricket Ground and St John’s College, Cambridge, though to summer weddings, local care homes and pubs at Christmas.

Their repertoire spans chart-toppers and show tunes right through to classical and swing. Their passion extends to the competitive arena, where they regularly compete in barbershop contests. Representing the UK, they have won medals on the international stage in cities like Baltimore, Las Vegas and Louisville, USA. Just last month, they travelled to Sweden to compete as part of the European Barbershop Convention 2025.
