Young Poets Workshop @ Basil’s
A chance for young and aspiring poets (no experience necessary, beginners welcome!) aged 7yrs to 11yrs to join a fun session enjoying their favourite poems and then creating their own with support from workshop leaders. After the workshop there is an opportunity to perform their chosen poems and their own work to friends and family on the Basil's Performance Poetry Mic!
Run by Richard Oldham, performance poet and curator of local RAW poetry events. This is one for the young creatives - come and have fun with words!
Workshop is 1.5 hours with breaks, parents are asked to remain on site. The performance stage will then follow from 12.30pm to 1pm.
*All participants are asked to bring a print-out of their favourite poem*

RAW launched in March last year, a new event created to bring the best in local poetry and spoken word talent to Reigate. Armed only with rapier-sharp rhyme and sparkling similes, our wordsmiths will tickle your emotions and delight your minds!
Our local area bristles with creative talent and a vibrant live music scene... but what if we stripped it back to bare bones and gave a platform to just the pure words and emotion?

Nappy Hour at Basil’s
Finally! An excuse to drink wine with your baby. On the first Thursday of every month, mingle with fellow sleep-deprived parents, swap war stories and sip something that isn’t cold coffee. This is your time to unwind, connect, maybe learn a thing or two and toast to surviving parenthood – one glass at a time.
