Pilgrim Brewery is a Fringe Venue for the Reigate Summer Festival and Drop In DJ are proud to be kickstarting the weekend off with a Friday night of eclectic music and Festival fun. Our usual 3rd Saturday date has, therefore, switched to Friday, meaning the Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage can takeover on Saturday 20th.

There is so much going on in town over the Summer Festival weekend. We look forward to welcoming you all and if you want to get more involved, contact us via Instagram @dropindj or let the Pilgrim know you are interested and we' wi'll try and fit you in. This will be a digital dj night as opposed to vinyl.

Reigate-founded Red’s Dreamers Jazz Collective is once again host-band for the Pilgrim Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage 2026, bringing us their special blend of jazz and swing classics from the Great American Songbook, plus a jazz-style take on more contemporary songs and favourites.  

Lorraine Gauntlett on Vocals, Ade Webb on Guitar – joined by guests saxophonist Josh Johnson and on magic flute Simon Bull.

Enjoy the great songs of artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone, Nat King Cole, Chet Baker, plus a jazzy take on more contemporary tunes from The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Olivia Dean and Adele. Listen out for a few exciting original twists and surprises!

Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage – Nikki Franklin Jazz – feat. guest jazz vocalist Les Bottomley

Nikki Franklin is back with her sparkling set of jazz classics and contemporary songs to this year’s festival stage at Pilgrim Brewery – joined this year by the huge vocal jazz talents of the wonderful Les Bottomley, seasoned jazz professional and favourite on the UK jazz circuit.    

Redhill-based Nikki has performed at and conducted her own works at numerous venues across the UK, including The Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The 606 Club, The Barbican, and the Royal Festival Hall.

Professional musician, composer, performer and educator, Nikki is the founder of an exciting new local community-based music education and musical collaboration network, Franklin Music

Jazz and Smooth Sounds Stage – Red’s Dreamers Jazz Collective Showcase – Ed Rice and Special Guest

We welcome back the incomparable talent that is Reigate’s own Ed Rice - one of the UK’s leading jazz pianists, bringing first-class music to our jazz stage once again. Ed has performed across the UK circuit and internationally, including jazz festivals in London, Cheltenham and Montreux, Switzerland. Ed is a pianist, researcher and educator, with a wide range of musical interests that span jazz, classical, pop and world music. Ed studied at the University of Leeds and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has performed with, among others, Norma Winstone, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Swingle Singers.  

His recent focus on Brazilian music, centres around a PhD in performing bossa nova, plus compositions by Tom Jobim as a solo pianist and material for a debut album combining his favourite jazz, bossa nova and pop repertoire. Expect high quality jazz with exciting Brazilian-inspired rhythms, plus a few surprises!

Toes will be tapping once again as we welcome back the eclectic mix of well-known tunes from the upbeat  Moodswing Quartet – including jazz and swing classics from the Twentieth Century, Latin and Gypsy Jazz Hot Club Repertoire.

Moodswing’s warm melodic sound is provided by Ann on Violin, Peter and Chris on Guitars and Mike on Double bass, plus Mandolin, Clarinet , Flute and Sax for certain tunes.

A favourite from last year’s Pilgrim Brewery jazz stage, Moodswing will be sure to make you want to get you up and dancing!

Our Pilgrim Jazz Stage Festival party really hots up into the evening as the sun goes down, with our Headline finale act - the fabulous Kit Packham and One Jump Ahead and their irresistible blend of upbeat jazz, blues and fun that really lets the good times roll.

Enjoy a host of great swing standards, “Rat Pack” numbers and jump/jive rhythm & blues plus classics from across the decades. One Jump Ahead is led by singer, saxophonist and songwriter, Kit Packham and his band of first class internationally-recognised jazz performers.
