Reigate St Mary’s Choristers (The Godfrey Searle Choir)

Reigate St Mary's is one of an elite group of fewer than 40 schools who can claim full membership of the Choir School Association (CSA), and the only one not attached to a cathedral. Named after its founder, who bequeathed his home to the school, the Godfrey Searle Choir maintains a valuable legacy, singing Morning Prayer and Evensong each week in St Mary's Church, led by Talitha Glynne-Jones. 

They will be first to perform on the Community Stage at the Church in the High Street (Reigate Methodist Church), from 5-5.30pm on Friday 14th June, providing a rare and beautiful opening to this inaugural Reigate Summer Festival. All welcome.

u3a Choir

The u3a Singing for Pleasure group was formed just over 14 years ago. They meet fortnightly at the Woodhatch Community Centre with accompanist, Gina Eason. There are generally about 30 members, men and women, who work on a programme for about three months followed by performances to local residential homes and sheltered accommodation. Programmes vary – sometimes works from just one composer, or songs from a show (both film and theatre). The choir has performed on many occasions with the u3a performing arts group and more recently with the u3a MID8DLE jazz group. 

The u3a Choir sing for pleasure and certainly gain a sense of wellbeing from enjoying music with the company of like-minded folk.

Reigate & Redhill Music and Drama Festival

The Reigate & Redhill Music and Drama Festival takes place every year in May, with 2025 being the centenary year. A gala concert is held after the main Festival, which features exceptional performances from all sections.

Two particularly large sections will feature in the Reigate Summer Festival, including a number of talented pianists, who have particularly impressed the adjudicators during the Festival. Several young performers from the Speech and Drama section will also feature.

Reigate School of Ballet

Established in 1963, the school now teaches over 1200 happy local children, providing a safe and nurturing environment to grow, not just as dancers, but also confident individuals for life. The primary ethos is to give everyone opportunities to perform and learn, and ensure all children learn to love dance, and have the confidence to say "I CAN DO IT".

Reigate School of Ballet offers classes in ballet, tap, commercial street, modern, musical theatre, contemporary, toddler dance, acro and adult dance and fitness, catering for children of all abilities. Some of this will be on show at Reigate Summer Festival when they perform on the Community Stage.

Voicerox

Voicerox Choir was established in November 2009 by singer and vocal coach Melanie Lewis-McDonald, as a way of bringing her professional experience in the rock and pop industry to her local community.

The choir boasts over 100 members from all walks of life with one thing in common - they love to sing!  Over the past 15 years, they have performed in theatres, recorded at Abbey Road Studio and performed at the Chorus Festival at London’s Royal Festival Hall.  They also regularly perform concerts at Reigate Methodist Church, where they rehearse every Tuesday evening during term times. They cover a variety of songs from the past seven decades, so there’s always something to bring joy to everyone!

SalsaBug

Paul and Wendy Marcel, owners of local Salsa dance company SalsaBug, will be showcasing some sizzling moves together with other members of their dance groups during their Salsa demo and 'have a go session' OUTSIDE the front of Reigate Methodist Church (on Reigate High Street) - between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday 15 June.

With their fun and exciting teaching style alongside their vast expertise this will be an interactive session not to be missed! 

Come along and see this fabulous showcase and be prepared to have some sashaying fun either watching the fabulous dancers or joining in with Salsa's intoxicating rhythms.

Reigate College, Music and Performing Arts Showcase

Students from the College's Music and Performing Arts courses will be performing on the Community Stage from 4 to 5pm on Saturday 15 June.

The programme will be split into two halves with A Level Music students performing a variety of pieces on Cello, French Horn, Double Bass and Piano.

In the second half, Performing Arts students will take centre stage presenting a musical theatre medley, with songs from Chicago, the contemporary musical SIX and a Disney collection - the Little Mermaid, Tangled, Frozen and the Princess and the Frog..

Include Choir

Include.org is an inclusive communication charity with a vision where there is a world where no-one is excluded because of communication disabilities. The charity's creative community projects are founded on Speech and Language Therapy, with the principles of inclusion and co-production. These projects include the Include Choirs, Stroll and Sign, and Champions Co-production group.

Reigate Summer Festival is delighted to welcome Include Choir to perform on the Community Stage on the final day of the Festival.

Vocal Dimension

Vocal Dimension Chorus is an award-winning a cappella chorus and is thrilled to have been invited to perform at the Reigate Summer Festival and look forward to sharing their music on the Community Stage.

Established in 2010 in Redhill, Vocal Dimension enjoy entertaining and performing at shows and events. Their expansive repertoire transcends genres, from Barbershop to classical pieces, popular chart-toppers and show tunes.  Their passion also extends to the competitive arena, where they regularly compete in Barbershop contests. Their journey has taken them to prestigious stages in Baltimore, Las Vegas, and just last year, they proudly represented the UK in Louisville, USA, bringing home a Silver International medal!
